I next took him to his first hunter jumper show at Sweetwater Farms and we won a couple of classes in Baby Green Hunters and took home the Championship. Later that afternoon I showed him in English Pleasure horse and won yet another blue ribbon. Those jumping courses were his first courses ever.
Mid April 2005, I rode him in a jumping clinic with British instructor Ernest Dillon. He was amazed at Flash's natural rythym and balance at all three gaits and his excellent canter. Receiving compliments from him being equally as balanced to the left as he is on his right lead and his huge stride. We jumped lot's of fences that day and rode some technical lines. A first for Flash. He was amazing at the clinic and we wrapped up the session with the positive comment "I am going to have fun with that one!".
It has been a little over a month now and I have given Flash most of the month off, riding him lightly here and there and letting him grow. I want to keep him for a while as he fills in all my expectations of an all around mount, with a little extra energy. Be on the lookout for me and Flash this summer! Enjoy both our Hunter Under Saddle and Western pictures.
